Windmill Sound offers a full production service to bands and musicians from soloist or groups, singer-songwriters to bathroom divas, even karaoke singers or as a gift idea for that special occasion.
Windmill Sound takes on only a limited number of recording projects and is then devoted to them, so that you always feel that we have invested in your music.
The Recording Studio has just purchased higher spec digital converters and can now record at 96k, that's even better sound quality to you. And we can handle bigger projects too. Don't worry we'll still be doing plenty of acoustic material.
The Recording Studio has extremely able and qualified staff, not just technicians but musicians - so you will notice the difference.
We also offer a service for arranging music, and composing original music for Film, TV, Radio, and media.

Some people need a producer to capture the performance, some need help with that tricky backing vocal, some require help with song structure, others need their songs arranged or completely re-arranged.
Daniel Davis has an honours degree in Musicology from Edinburgh University, including studies Analysis, Harmony, Counterpoint, Orchestration, and Composition. Whether your song needs a sequenced synth, a full orchestra, or a less-is-more approach, he can help you turn your ideas into musical reality. He has a postgraduate qualification in teaching and can coax that performance out of you. He also is a qualified sound engineer and can sweeten the recording to achieve that professional sounding result.

Sound design, sound effects and foley work are also handled whether as part of a composition deal or separately.
Music can be composed for any ensemble, whether for a solo instrument, or a full orchestra.

Staff at Windmill
Daniel Davis has an honours degree in music with composition as a major. Postgraduate he went on to study teaching and has taught music from primary school up to Standard Grade, Higher, and 'A' Level, and taught composition to lifers in Saughton Prison. Later he studied audio engineering. He has been involved with the performance of music since he was a child - from school to county youth orchestras, university to professional orchestral playing. He has also conducted choirs and orchestras, and is now actively involved in the acoustic music scene in Edinburgh. This means that you are getting a consumate musician rather than just a knob-twiddler. He is good at coaxing the best performance out of musicians within realistic timescales, and creates a relaxed but concentrated vibe in the studio. A recurrent theme in comments is that he cares about the music.
