About The Mill is a professional recording studio based in South Norfolk.

We've been established for 10 years now and have produced quality records for unsigned bands and international signed recording artists alike.

Our work has also received airplay throughout local & national radio including Radio 1, Radio 2 "A list" and BBC 6 Music record of the week.

We pride ourselves on combining a passion for great music with the knowledge and attention to detail that gets the best possible results for all our clients.

During the day it provides resources for Music Performance/Technology courses provided by North Devon College, and at night transforms into a venue with a capacity of 500. On first entry to the building there is a cafe area that can accommodate acoustic music, stand up comedy and social gatherings and inside the main auditorium there is a full size stage area which is equipped with a superb PA and lighting rig to support performances.

We always aim to provide a relaxed and enjoyable approach to recording, whilst striving to achieve the best results. The open-plan layout of the studio minimizes the isolation of having musicians and engineers in separate rooms, without compromising quality. This is particularly beneficial for bands as everyone is able to work in a way that is closer to a regular rehearsal or gig situation.

We are able to cater for whatever method of recording you prefer, be it primarily live takes or a more overdub led approach. When recording we are able to offer discreet headphone mixes, ensuring that all musicians are hearing exactly the balance that they require. With our Pro Tools system we are able to perform seamless drop-ins at any point within a song for any combination of instruments. It‘s also very easy to compile and edit separate takes of performances as required.

The studio is also available to mix and master material brought in from other studios. Please call to discuss your requirements.
