In today’s complex, fickle and ever-changing music industry the larger record companies are losing their grip. Bands are finding alternative ways of attaining success independently, rejecting the more traditional roots to notoriety and fame. For this reason alone more and more power is back in the hands of the bands themselves.
The Surface Unsigned Magazine is working in association with Kerrang Radio, the BBC, unsigned music promoters, top industry sponsors and major music names to deliver content geared towards the unsigned market. The magazine features industry related tips, columns and interviews. It also contains unsigned live music reviews including full coverage of the Surface Unsigned Festival 2007 and looks forward to the Festival of 2008.

Surface Unsigned Festival
Surface Unsigned Festival events in 2008 will be held in the North (Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds), the Midlands (Birmingham, Wolverhampton) and the South (London, Reading, Brighton) making it the biggest event of its kind.
For bands that reach the final stages of the festival both Surface Unsigned and our sponsors will award the musicians with prizes, studio time and endorsement deals amounting to tens of thousands of pounds.
