About

The distinctive snarling vocals and laid-back guitar work that is trademark Mystery Slang are the creation of band leader Latif Gardez.
After their debut album “Venus Grove” (released in 2011 by Digitdoc Records) gained radio play on several UK stations, including notably a track on the Cerys Matthews Show on BBC 6 Music, we fully expect the follow-up “River Towns” to be received with equal, if not more, interest by the media. From the swamp blues sound of “Cooler Girl” to the punchy, rocked-up “The Bear’s Run”, with a Spanish-style acoustic number and a trumpet-led instrumental for good measure, this album covers a broad spectrum of Gardez’ skills as a composer and musician.
Live performances from Latif Gardez (vocals & lead guitar), Johnny Orme (rhythm guitar), Jon Loder (bass) and 'Chicago' Mike Wiedrich (drums) just keep getting better.
