Location: Glasgow, Scotland
About
- Door Number 7
Door Number 7 were formed in late 2005 by Chris Chung, David Connolly and Kimberly McNab. The bassless trio continued for 6 months cutting their first demo overdubbing the bass after the initial recording session. Shortly after the recording of the demo they were joined by Gavin Clark on bass. Gavin left in September 2006 to be replaced by Scott Millar on bass duties initially borrowing the bass of one Sir Andrew of Yule (cheers pedro). A split with Kimberly in August brought Ian into the Door Number 7 family.

Door Number 7 hold great pride in the fact that they write their own material and have done since the beginning. In December 2007, bassist Scott Millar parted ways with the band and was replaced by band friend Kevin Fraser.

Door Number 7 are in the process of finishing off new material, which they consider to be their best.

DOOR NUMBER 7 ARE TOURING IN JUNE! We are looking for venues in the UK to gig. If you are interested in booking us, please contact us at bookings@doornumber7.co.uk.

Band Interview

How many band members do you have?
We are a 4-piece band. The lineup consists of Christopher Chung on guitar/vocals, David Connolly on lead guitar, Scott Millar on bass and Ian McLauchlan on drums.
What year was your band formed?
The band was formed in late 2005, after the previous band David and Chris formed with ex-drummer, Kimberly McNab, split up. We were left without a bassist for a while until Gavin Clark stepped in during 2006 to complete the lineup.
How would you describe your music?
We would describe our music as a clash between older punk, like early NOFX and The Ramones, with the newer punk such as Goldfinger, Sum 41 and Green Day.
What live experience have you had?
We have been gigging since 2006. We have played at venues such as Soundhaus, Barfly, Cathouse, Barrowlands 2 and our local school!
What are the most recent venues you have played at?
We have recently played at the Cathouse and Barrowlands 2 in Glasgow. Both were pretty memorable experiences for the band.
What type of events are you available for?
We are available to play in pubs and clubs. We have recently played a few pay to play gigs, and feel we need to play towards new audiences with a mixed age group.
If you are a tribute band please provide your song list here:
Do you have any Music or Merchandise for sale?
Our music is free to download, and we hand out free demo discs with artwork to anyone who requests one. We also have badges available free of charge, and we are selling vinyl t-shirts. We plan a bigger merchandise range when we expand our fanbase.
How much notice would you need to attend an event?
At least one week. Ideally, we would prefer more notice, as we like to rehearse our socks off to deliver the best performance.
Do you have a lot of fans that attend your gigs?
The biggest audience we have attracted is 56, which we are quite proud of. We wish to extend our fanbase though, throughout the UK.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
We are currently writing new songs (which, may I add, are pretty hot) and planning to go to the studios again to record a new demo. We are also interested in finding a manager, so we can do a mini-tour sometime soon.
